Questions

Everything people ask before they book

And a few things they ask afterwards. If yours is not here, send it — a person reads them.

Asking and booking

Somebody is marked booked up. Is that final?

It means their diary is full up to the date on their card. Ask about a date after it, or ask anyway and say the date is flexible — a person reads every request, and runs of dates do open up.

How far ahead should I ask?

As far ahead as you can. Each occasion page says how far out people book that kind of night; popular Saturdays go a year out. A short-notice ask is still worth sending — say so in the first line and it is read that way.

Can I ask more than one?

Yes. Send a request for each — every one is priced on its own, because every one is its own conversation with a different diary. Asking costs nothing, however many you ask.

What does it cost to send a request?

Nothing, and it commits you to nothing. You are asking whether a date is possible and what it would cost. Money moves once, after a person has named the price and you have agreed to it.

Do I need an account?

To browse, no. To send a request, yes — a booking is a promise about a date and a sum of money, so it belongs to somebody rather than to an email address typed once. It also means you can see the status without asking us.

How long until somebody answers?

The roster's own answer times are on the cards and on the home page — measured from real requests, not promised. If your date is close, say so in the request and we will treat it that way.

Money

What does the price on a card mean?

It is where that person starts, never the whole bill. The final figure depends on the date, the place, the length and what you are asking for — a person itemises it, and you see it in full before anything is charged.

Why is there no card payment?

Because the price is not known when you ask — a person sets it after checking the date. You pay the agreed figure directly, by the channels the pay page offers, so the amount you approved is the amount that moves and a cancellation returns exactly that.

What happens to my money if I cancel?

A paid booking that is cancelled reverses on the books and the money is returned to the account it came from, on the terms you saw before you paid. It is a real reversal, not a credit note — and a person sends it, so allow a few working days.

Where can I see what I have paid?

Under Payments in your dashboard. Every payment is listed there with its own receipt, naming the booking it was for and the way it was paid.

The event itself

Who do I speak to on the day?

Us. Your booking has a person attached to it and they know it without you re-explaining it. The details are on the booking page in your dashboard.

What if the act cancels?

You are refunded in full — returned to the account you paid from, by a person, within a few working days — and we start looking immediately. It is rare, and it is the reason we represent a roster we know rather than a list we bought.

Can I leave a review?

If you booked and paid, yes — one per booking. That restriction is why the reviews on this site are worth reading.
